The structure of Valuations functions and the work conducted within these areas has continued to develop during the past few years. Organisations have approached these changes and restructured themselves in different ways. The importance and profile of valuations functions has significantly increased and hence such roles have become attractive to individuals from the Front Office, Quants and Risk in addition to Finance.

Few people in the market have the quantitative, product and accounting skills required alongside leadership, management and networking capabilities to carry out all aspects of a Valuations role. As a consequence, many organisations have opted for a Head with the above skills, supported by two teams, one which is quantitative and heavily focused on the development of the models and the other which is focused on IPV and process.
